LED Lighting Fixtures (LLF) of Research Triangle Park, North Carolina USA,(soon to be a Cree Subsidiary), reported that it has sold over 50,000 of its LR6 retrofit LED bulbs since the launch of the product in August 2007. The company notes that this is enough to light about 2 million square feet of building environment LLF notes that the LR6 was recognized as the grand prize winner in an award competition sponsored by the American Lighting Association. Its performance was reportedly verified by independent lab tests under the direction of the U.S. Department of Energy.
